Today we celebrate Grace Moore, a Head Start Alumna. Grace is now a college student at Ohio University, studying for her bachelor's in social work. When asked, "how has Head Start affected your life?", Grace shared this, "I truly believe that being enrolled in Head Start set me up for academic and social success. I made friends in my Head Start class that I kept throughout grade school. I learned social skills that helped me greatly when I started kindergarten. Having a Head Start background helped me to not be nervous when I began elementary school because I had already had experience being in a classroom and had a group of friends already established. Head Start taught me skills that set me up for success in Kindergarten and the rest of grade school, and those social and learning skills have followed me throughout my life. I am now a sophomore in college, and I can still recognize the teachers and students that I shared my Head Start experience with. I am forever grateful for the time that I got to spend in the Head Start program."

Grace, far left, is pictured here with her mother, Amy Jo, her sister, Makayla and her grandmother, Gaynelle.

Thank you Grace for sharing! We wish you much success with your education goals and your career aspirations.
