A Lesson in Color
Jessica, the Education Director, Stifel Fine Arts, located in Wheeling, WV, provided the children enrolled in the Orchard Park 1 and 2 Head Start Centers with a lesson to better understand primary and secondary colors. During the same week, the children had the experience with mixing paint colors at the art easel during Choice Time. The children were introduced to the types and parts of trains during the lesson. Then the children were given the opportunity to name the shapes as they sponge painted a model of a train and mixed colors with paint to make the secondary color for the wheels on the train.
