Community Involvement

NPHS Inc. actively promotes parent participation in community training opportunities.  Family Resource Advocates (family services staff) build relationships with community agencies/resources to provide families with an understanding of what is available to them in their local communities and share topics/workshops that may be of interest to families.  Contact Janel Taylor, Family and Community Partnerships Coordinator, for more details about family and community engagement activities.

In late November 2011, The WVU Extension Service provided a workshop titled "Strong Families Eat Together".  The workshop was sponsored by the WV Healthy Families Healthy Children Coalition, Family Resource Center and the WVU Extension Service.

This workshop was offered to families enrolled at the Orchard Park Early Head Start and Head Start facility only.  A total of 64 Early Head Start and Head Start family members, including several staff participated in this event.  GREAT FAMILY PARTICIPATION - THANK YOU!
