School Readiness Goals
NPHS uses the WV Pre-K Child Assessment Scoring System and Early Learning Scale (ELS) as its systematic assessment for preschool children. The ELS Domains are Math/Science, Social Emotional/Social Studies and Language and Literacy. The ELS assessment is the process of gathering information about children from several forms of evidence, then organizing and interpreting that information. Performance assessments capture children’s skills and knowledge in real experiences over time, focuses on strengths and interests and informs teaching.
